Merry Christmas

I guess I've been missing for a while huh?

Well, if only you knew the story behind that! Boy would it keep you up half the night! But I'm a nice girl really and don't want you to get nightmares just before Christmas. That would be just horrible of me!

So, just as a quick post and a Christmas present to all my blogging friends I've got some pictures of things that happened over the year.

First there was that new Video Game that came out. Took me all of about 6 hours to complete.

Then there was that time that we discovered that the Clones had been starting families.

And then, eugh, I don't even want to think about it....

And now I've got a little video for you. Uncle Luke decided to give all of us a little "treat" and hired a Bard to come and sing for us. I'm sorry but he was the strangest person that I have ever met!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

Anakin's Home

"Hey there you two." I greeted my little brother and uncle as they appeared. I pulled each one into a hug before sitting down. "So, how was your trip?" Uncle Luke scowled jokingly at me. "You know that we're not supposed to talk about stuff like that, Jaina. However, you might like to know that Anakin managed to get us into a fight before we had even been on the planet for ten minutes."
"It wasn't my fault!" Huffed Anakin, before smiling broadly. "It worked though, didn't it? We got what we needed."
Uncle Luke nodded, "Yes, but you have to learn that there are other ways of doing things rather than physical means Anakin."
I nodded solemnly, "He's right you know, Ani. You should spend more time with Jacen meditating." I tried to conceal the laughter that was trying to escape my lips at the look on his face at those words. I glanced at Uncle Luke and saw that he was trying not to smile as well.
"As if! I'd much rather spend my time practicing my saber skills." He protested.
"How are you supposed to be at one with the Force if all you do is use your lightsaber?" Asked Uncle Luke. "You need to tune your mind and body to the Force before you can truly use a lightsaber."
"That's why Jacen always kicks your sorry behind in duels Anakin." I stated.
That did it, Anakin stood up. "If that's all you have to say to me, then I think I'll go get some sleep. If it won't stop me being a Jedi that is!"
I couldn't hold back my laughter any longer and as soon as I started Uncle Luke did too. Anakin took one look at us and turned on his heel.
Uncle Luke and I just sat there unable to move, anytime we thought we could stop we looked at each other and started again.

Suddenly Anakin came flying back into the room followed by a small chicken-like creature. "Jaina! What is this thing?" He cried as he tried to get away from it. Inbetween hicups of laughter I manged to say, "That's Jacen's newest pet. It's name is Ned, I think he likes you." And decended into gales of laughter as I watched Ned chase Anakin around the room.

Foiled Again!

Dark Jedi Kriss jumped through a wormhole and shoved this tag into my hands before being sucked back in shouting something about Vader and Anakin... Bizzare...

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Okay so I'm gonna cheat and just use my real name. Here goes!

Jedi
Awsome
Inventor
Not full of myself... lol
Amazing pilot

Okay, so that's that done with, so I tag...
Fluke
Jon
Lebua
Barris
Efrica

Bwa ha! Suckers! :P

Here we go again...

3-PO came running, well, shuffling really, into my room. “Mistress Jaina, your brother says to come quick.”
I swung my legs off my bed and set the book that I had been reading down (Build Your Own Engine) “Which brother?” I asked.
“Why Jacen of course, as Anakin is not due back until Thursday.”
I’d forgotten, Anakin and Uncle Luke were off on a mission. “Right where is he? 3-PO?”
“Down in the forest clearing.”

When I arrived down there Jacen was sitting crossed-legged holding something small… small and featherly.
“Oh no! Not again. No way!”
“Please Jaina, he needs me!”
I took a step back, “No way! Remember what happened last time? I do and it wasn’t pretty.”
“Please, this won’t be like last time. I promise.”
Pretty please?
I glowered at him, “Get out of my head Solo.”
“I’m sorry. Look how cute he is Jaina. How can you say no?”
I frowned, “Have you forgotten about Scooter? What’s he gonna think about this?” Scooter chose that moment to very unhelpfully poke his head out of Jacen’s top pocket. Jacen beamed, “Scooter loves him!”
I placed my hand on my hip and glared at his pet mouse. “What about it’s family? You can’t steal him, oh brother of mine!”
Jacen frowned, “His mother was…” eaten “So he doesn’t have anyone to look after him. Please Jaina?”
He knew he had me there. Even I couldn’t say no to that. I turned on my heal and shouted over my shoulder, “If anything goes wrong I had nothing to do with this? Okay? Nothing!”
A few hours later I returned carrying a cage that I had made out of scrap metal, complete with a side and top door plus a handle for carrying it. Jacen beamed at me, “Thanks sis!” He opened the top door and gently tipped his new pet in. I watched him pick up the cage and start walking back. It looked like the Solo’s had gained a new family member. A little baby Nuna.

A Jedi Knight of Old. Part VIII

Hera jumped up, shocked as Master Sapphire entered the room. I don’t know what she had done but I felt power and wisdom emitting off her like crazy. I stepped towards Hera encase she felt threatened but at the same time the Force told me it was unneeded. Hera was shocked and frightened but there was no hostility there. Just a resounding feeling of trust. I didn’t speak but watched as she stepped towards Lebua, a disbelieving look on her face. Her book hung limp in one hand and the lightsaber gripped in the other.
Looking Master Sapphire in the eyes she whispered, “No… It can’t be…” Still holding her gaze she latched her lightsaber to the belt at the top of her trousers, something she hadn’t done in a long time. Slowly she reached up and traced the line of Master Sapphire’s face with her hand. “They told me you weren’t real… That they were just stupid dreams…” she breathed.
Astounded I watched on as she fell to her knees, sobbing gently. “But it’s true, you’re real. And you’re here, you’re here.”

Lebua cast a helpless look at me and gently rubbed the top of Hera’s head, "Calm down Hera…" She knelt down, and Hera held her tightly.

"Hera… It'll be okay," Lebua whispered gently..

I sat down on the other side of Hera. “Come on. It’s ok. She’s here to help you. She’s the one the rumours were about. Her name is Lebua Sapphire.”
Slowly Hera stopped crying and sat up. “Really? You’re going to help me?”
“Yes, she is.” I answered firmly. “Now why don’t you tell us about the dreams that you had.”
Hera sniffed and rubbed her eyes. “It was years ago. When I was still young. I must only have been about eight but I was still made to serve Tarken’s guests. They would make fun of me and call me names. The other twi’lek girls didn’t like me and they would trip me up so that I fell and got punished. When I had really bad days I cried myself to sleep and there would always be a tri’lek waiting for me there. She was so strong looking and she held two lightswords, sorry, sabers. Sometimes she would tell me that it would be all right and that we would meet someday but other times she wouldn’t speak. Just stand there and it made me feel better. Once I tried to tell the other slaves about her but they just laughed at me and I had just handed them another source of amusement to them. After a while I learnt not to mention them and eventually they stopped happening. But I never forgot her.”
She looked up. “And now I know your name. Master Lebua Sapphire. Thank-you.”

Lebua took Hera in her arms and hugged her, whispering gently to her. I quietly stood up and stepped back from the two. I smiled as I saw them together, a blue skinned teenage twi’lek from the New Jedi Order and an indigo skinned tri’lek from the Old Republic. I felt tears well in my eyes as the Force in the room swirled gently with hope, love and most important of all, peace.

-------------------

“Hurry up Hera! We are already late!” I called as Hera and I dashed down a hallway.
Skidding to a halt outside the door giggling slightly. We both sobered up as we caught a glance of Master Sapphire.
She pointed menacingly at us. “You two are late. You have kept the entire class waiting. You have kept me waiting. Miss Solo, you and my no good Padawan are going to be my… Victims for the day…”
She lifted her sabers off the floor using the Force and as they lifted I looked at Hera, grinned and we both ignited ours, a purple and blue one glowing gently side-by-side.

A Jedi Knight of Old. Part VII

I watched her as she moved around the room, touching things and muttering to herself. I cut myself off from the Force, not wanting to catch glimpses of what she was feeling.

I watched her break down at Ben’s lightsaber. I turned away, not wanting to watch her world be ripped apart again.
I looked up when she spoke, her voice was angry and I nodded and led the way out of the room, up countless flights of stairs and through winding corridors staying silent.

She followed me up the stairs without a word and then spoke at the top, "Thanks for showing me that room."

I stopped and turned around to face her surprised. “Why?”

"Because I am old, and allowed to be erratic and irrational."

I bowed my head feeling bad for asking the question. I knew it had been the wrong thing to say as soon as it came out of my mouth.
I hurried after her.
“We’re nearly there. Master Skywalker should- oh!” I broke off because at that moment he walked around the corner.
“Jaina, there you are. Zekk said something about you arriving in a strange ship.”
“Yes Master. I’ve completed the mission you set me. This is Master Lebua Sapphire.” I gestured towards her. “It’s her ship. They weren’t rumours. She’s a Jedi.”

I watched as she looked at him and spoke to him. I saw tears glisten in the corner of his eye as she gave him the highest praise possible. I knew that there would be many questions and answers between the both of them. I took my leave and went to see how Hera was.
She was in her room reading a book and jumped up in fright when I came in.
“It’s only me Hera. I’m back.” I said gently. She loosened her grip on the lightsaber that she held.
“You weren’t gone long Jaina.” She spoke.
“I wasn’t. I found the source of the rumours and I came back. How have you been?”
“I read my way through half of the library. I can’t believe how much books distract me.” She started to relax the way she always did around me.
“Are you sure that distractions are the best way?”
“I’ve been thinking about that as well and I’m sorry for what I did to Jacen.” She hung her head.
“You just need someone to trust. Someone who knows what you are going through.” I replied.
“And where is someone like that going to turn up?” she asked and picked up her book again.

"Here." Came then reply and I looked up to see Master Sapphire standing framed in the doorway.

A Jedi Knight of Old. Part VI

"Wake up time, Miss Solo, we are within three minutes of Yavin 4. If you don't want me blazing in, you should wake up now."

I jerked myself out of my trance. I hadn’t realised I had been there for so long. I stood up and shook my legs which felt slightly numb and walked into the cockpit. “Easy journey then?” I asked.

"Yes. I don't know the security of this new temple, nor how you want to deal with a ship of this size, and weird make coming into range of whatever defences you have, that's up to you, Miss. Solo." She replied.

She had changed in the time I had been in that room. I noticed that she had her sabers and the sniper rifle was strapped to her back. She would certainly make an impression down at the temple..

“There aren’t really any defences. Uncle Luke doesn’t want to seem aggressive. The Jedi have been getting enough bad press as it is. Besides, no one ever really comes to Yavin.”
I reached over and tapped the external comlink.
“Jedi Temple, this is Jaina Solo. Requesting permission to land.”
Zekk answered.
“Sith Spit Jaina! You gave us a fright. We had no idea what was going on. Where’d you get that thing?” he asked.
I sighed, always with the questions, never with the answers.
“It’s not mine. It belongs to an old friend. Now do we have permission to land or what?”
“Huh? Oh, yea. Bay 3 is clear, it should be big enough. Or you can land at the edge of the forest and walk in. It’s up to you.”
I looked a Lebua. “You heard the boy. It’s up to you, Captain.”

"I'm too old to walk. Show me where the bay is," she replied as she pulled down, breaching the planet's atmosphere.

I laughed. “I doubt that very much.” I pointed a little left to where we were flying. “It’s over they’re built into the same cliff that part of the temple is. Here.” Again I reached down and typed in co-ordinates for the cliff. The ship would have to be taken in manually.

We speed off towards the cliffs and Master Sapphire took the ship in beautifully.

"I do not want to immediately meet this girl," I said as she stood up, "I want to meet your Father, and your uncle first."

“I was planning on taking you to Master Skywalker first so that’s not a problem. But Dad… well, he’s back on Coursant.”
We exited her beautiful ship and now it was my turn to show her around. The bay that we had docked in was at the back of the Temple so I assumed that we would have to go to the front to meet Uncle Luke.
The walkway had massive pillars cut out of the cliff on the left with different rooms on the right. The view through the pillars looked out over Yavin’s massive forests and sounds of the outdoors drifted up to where we walked.

I explained a little about the temple as we walked. On our right different doors were open and closed, some contained young padawans being taught in groups, others solitary Jedi meditating or training by themselves.
“We are still relatively few in numbers. There’s only around 100 Jedi at the moment and most are no where near Master level so it makes one on one teaching very difficult. Master Skywalker is trying to change that, be it slowly. He himself leads Anakin and Jacen, while Aunt Mara Jade is my mentor.” I paused at a door that was closed. “This is the mediation room, silence at all times and no lightsabers to be ignited.”

We turned a corner and our path now took us away from the outdoors and into the main building. I paused a few hundred meters in again. “In this room we’ve begun to create a collection of Jedi artefacts and all that we know from before the Empire. Do you want to go in?”

She nodded and I wondered if it was such a good idea.

I opened the door and stepped into the room.
“There’s not much.” I noted. Mostly books, a few sabers and other things. Everything was arranged neatly on shelves and the one thing that stood pride of place was a special lightsaber. Obi Wan’s.

A Jedi Knight of Old. Part V

“Wha-? No!” I was shocked! Kill her? Why would I do that? We were Jedi, at least I was a Jedi. It was my job to protect life! Not take it away! It suddenly dawned on me that I was in a strange ship with a person that I had only known for a few hours. She could kill me and no one would ever find out what happened.
I backed away a few steps without realising it.
“Why would I want you to kill her? She needs help, not hurt!”

"I'm not going to hurt you," she said calmly, "You haven't read much about the old temple, have you? We had to put down threats, specifically ones that could possibly lead to the sith. I can cleanse her mind, but that wasn't my specialty… I just know some tricks, from my-" She cut her sentence off as we passed two rooms with closed doors.

Lebua stopped at the next room, "Feel free to go into every room on the ship except the two I passed by. I will go watch the ship, if you need a short nap, it will be an hour or so before we arrive." I wondered what had happened to the residents of those rooms.

I watched her walk away and wondered how many times she had done that in her life. My first impression had been right, she had gone through trials and seen darkness and I wondered what they were.

I sat on the bed and opened myself to the Force. I didn’t need sleep, I didn’t want sleep. I contemplated all that had happened in the last hour. The Old Temple? Well, no one knew about that thanks to the Emperor. Mind wipes? Well that one wasn’t new; Uncle Luke had tried to do that to me once. But put down threats? Just what did that mean, though I had a fair idea. But why?
I sighed and held my head in my hands and thought about Hera. Just what did I want Lebua to do with her? Gain her trust for a start and then help her. But how? How to help her?
The Force nudged me and showed me a picture of my Aunt. Suddenly it was all so clear.
Hera needed a Master, someone that she could trust and Master Sapphire needed someone as well. But would she take up her lightsaber again? And how to suggest it to her?

See Master Sapphire did here.

A Jedi Knight of Old. Part IV

"Magna Guard staff." She stated, "Those things are hard to come by. I had to kill a couple of them to find one that worked after they stopped working. I even had to repair that one."

“Cool!” I picked it up gently and took a defensive stance. I activated it and purple jets of energy snapped and fizzled at both ends. It was heavy compared to a lightsaber and felt bulky in my hands. Slowly I began to spin it and moved it in arching movements that surrounded my body. As I got a feel for it I increased my speed and changed direction, letting the light of it blur into large arcs, steadily I added movement to my feet until I was travelling up and down the room, always cautious knowing that one mistake could hurt me, her or something in the room.
Eventually I stopped and deactivated it.
Breathing deeply I replaced it gently where I had got it. “I never did like using double ended weapons very much.” I commented.
"Well, I am a dual-wield saber specialist. In my time, a sith known as Darth Maul was a double ended saber specialist… I've seen so many fighting styles, its not even funny. There are more rooms, if you are interested, but I understand why this room attracts you so."

She breathed deeply, brushing her lekkus back, throwing them into the air, allowing them to land behind her with a grace of someone much younger than I knew she must be.

“Darth Maul…” I repeated the name. It sounded familiar. “Oh yea! He was the Sith that killed Old Ben’s Master, wasn’t he? Well, each to their own, I suppose.”
I stepped away from all the weapons.
“This room is nice but I’m sure the others are just as interesting. Lead on good Jedi!” I laughed, I was really beginning to enjoy myself.

Her room was very different to the armoury. It was deeper, had more feeling to it. I felt like I was intruding into something very private. I was just about to leave when one of the pictures I had avoided looking at caught my eye.
It was a beautiful young twi’lek woman, dancing, lost in her own world. I could hardly tear my eyes away.
“That’s your mother, isn’t it? She is stunning.”
I wasn’t sure what to say next. My relationship with my own mother was, well, difficult and I didn’t know how to talk to someone else about theirs. Again Hera floated into my mind and I knew I had to mention her soon.
“Was she… did she ever… dance?”

She sighed, out of annoyance or uncomfort, I couldn’t tell. She answered me in simple facts. "She was a slave-dancer. My father bought her. My father fell in love with her. She died giving birth to me."

"This really isn't about me or my mother though, is it?" She asked.

I shook my head. I was glad that she had brought it up, I wasn’t sure how too. I was sorry about her parents. At least mine were still alive.
“No. It’s like I said before, there’s a bit of a situation up at the Temple that I think you could help us with.”
I stepped back into the hall and sighed, “I rescued a twi’lek from Tarken the Hutt. I don’t know why, she just seemed to call out to me and I could feel that she was Force sensitive.
Her name is Hera and she seemed to be happy in the Temple. She’s good with the Force for only being trained for a few months and I thought everything was going great. But then I went away for a few weeks to train with the Rouges and I had…not a vision of sorts but more of a few of what was happening at that time thing, to Jacen. My twin.
He was being attacked but I couldn’t see whom by and when I got back I discovered that it was Hera. I’m the only person that she will let near her and she can only have females in the room with her. She freaks out if there are any men in the same room as her. We don’t know what to do with her. We guess that she might me more trusting of a twi’lek but the only other Jedi twi’lek that we have is in the outer rim and anyway, he’s male.”
I sighed again, “I don’t know what to do. No one does.”

She set her hand on her hip and said six words I never expected to come out of her mouth, "Am I to kill her then?"

(See Lebua's side of all this here.)
